Petrie is a long young post who still has a long way to go. What initially jumped out was the job she did defending a big bodied older post player in Erica Carr at the NBA ACADEMY BASKETBALL WITHOUT BORDERS. She competed and battled although physically she was at a disadvantage. She scored in double figures by scoring at the rim, she made 2 of her 3 free throws and even stepped out and hit a 3. Petrie also created some second chance opportunities for her team in that game as well. Her play over the 4 games was up and down. She needs to rebound the ball better as well as finish around the rim more consistently. Her footwork is another area that needs to be addressed. With 3 years left of high school Petrie should be a kid for D2/Mid majors to keep track of.
